Local guide
An 1800s downtown that stays busy
Troy is the Collar City, named for the shirt collars once made here, and its downtown is full of Victorian-era buildings. River Street has an antiques district with cafés and galleries. The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market runs every Saturday, at Monument Square from May through October and inside the Troy Atrium for the winter. And on the last Friday of every month, Troy Night Out fills downtown with an evening of art and culture from 5 to 9 p.m.
For a small shop or a market vendor, that means busy days that come in waves. The same questions arrive all week by text, DM and phone, and most of them come in while you’re with a customer.
Beautiful buildings, long to-do lists
A lot of downtown Troy is old mixed-use buildings: a storefront downstairs, apartments upstairs. One owner can be juggling tenant texts about heat and leaks, a commercial lease, quotes for brick and roof work, and the paperwork that comes with permits and inspections.
That is familiar ground for us. Dom’s career is in masonry, restoration and coatings, and he runs his own construction company, www.TheDomConstruction.com. He knows what an old building’s maintenance list looks like, and how much of it is really paperwork.
For building owners, we usually start with repair-request intake and routing, then add rent and lease reminders and a simple monthly report. Our article on AI for property managers walks through the steps.
A college town with startups
RPI is Troy’s largest private employer, and the city is also home to Hudson Valley Community College and Russell Sage College. RPI has helped Troy grow a small tech sector, including a cluster of small game studios.
Small teams like these rarely have an office manager. The founders do their own invoicing, chase their own follow-ups and take their own meeting notes. We set up bookkeeping and invoicing automation, lead follow-up and meeting summaries you can try in the meeting notes demo, all on accounts you own.
For shops, cafés and market vendors
A website chat assistant answers the questions about hours, stock and shipping. Review replies and your Google Business Profile stay current without a late night at the laptop. Our page for restaurants and shops has more ideas.
Up the Northway and over the river
From our office in the Town of Colonie, downtown Troy is a short run up the Northway, then Route 7 east over the Hudson. Show us the building with the most tenant texts, or the chore that keeps you working after closing, and we’ll start there. Book a free intro visit to get started.
In Troy
Three things we’d set up here
Typical first projects for Troy businesses. Each one is shaped around how you already work, and nothing goes out without your OK.
-
Repair requests for a mixed-use building owner
Tenant texts about a leak, no heat or a dead buzzer get logged, sorted by urgency and sent to the right contractor with the photos attached. You get one weekly list of what's open, what's fixed and what it cost, instead of a phone full of threads.

AI Receptionist -
Pre-orders and questions for a market vendor
A chat on your website and a text line answer “Will you have it Saturday?” and “Do you ship?”, take pre-orders for pickup at the market and keep one simple order sheet, so nothing gets lost in Instagram messages.

Website Chat Assistant -
Meeting notes and follow-ups for a small startup
Calls with customers, advisors and grant officers are recorded with everyone's permission, summarized, and turned into a task list and a draft follow-up message. It all runs on your own Google or Microsoft accounts, so your work stays yours.

More questions and answersDo you come to Troy?
Yes. It's about 25 minutes from our office: up the Northway and over the Hudson on Route 7. We're glad to meet in your shop, your office or the basement of your building, wherever the work happens.
I own a couple of old buildings downtown. Is this worth it for a small landlord?
Often, yes. Repair requests, rent reminders, lease dates and contractor quotes take the same steps for four units as for forty. We start with the one task that eats the most time and keep it simple. Dom's background is masonry and restoration, so he knows what an old building's to-do list looks like.
We're a tech startup. Why not just build this ourselves?
You can, and some teams do. We help when your engineers should be building the product, not wiring up invoice reminders and customer follow-ups. We set it up, write down how it works and hand it over. You own every account.
Can it help on Troy Night Out and market Saturdays?
Yes. AI can draft your posts, keep your hours right on Google and answer the “Are you open late?” messages while you're busy with the people in front of you. You approve anything that goes out under your name.
