Every call answered, even when you can't

When you're up a ladder, with a patient or asleep, an AI assistant picks up, asks your questions, books the visit and texts you what happened. Callers always hear that it's an AI, and anyone can ask for a person at any time.

What it is

In plain English

The phone rings while you’re on a roof, under a sink or with a customer. You can’t pick up. By the time you call back, they’ve hired whoever answered first.

An AI receptionist picks up instead. It answers in your company’s name, asks the questions you would ask, and either books a time on your calendar or takes a clear message. Texts work the same way, so the person who texts at 9:40 PM about a leaking gutter hears back that night, not the next afternoon.

We set it up on the number you already have. It can cover nights and weekends, the calls you don’t get to in time, or every call.

Where a person takes over. The assistant tells every caller it’s an AI. Anyone who wants a person can ask. During your hours it passes the call to you or your office. After hours it takes the message and texts it to you right away, so you can call back. The emergencies you define, like a burst pipe, a tenant locked out or a dental patient in pain, ring your cell or whoever is on call. It never quotes a price you haven’t approved.

Medical and dental offices: patient calls only go through phone and AI services that are HIPAA-eligible and covered by a signed business associate agreement (BAA). Never consumer AI.

Wondering how this compares to a live answering service? We wrote a plain-English comparison. Or try the demo: pick a business type and watch a 9:40 PM text get answered and booked.

How it works

One example, step by step

A typical setup. We shape every step around how your business already runs, and you approve anything that goes out.

Example workflow

AI Receptionist, start to finish

  1. Step 1

    Call or text comes in

9:40 PM, you're at dinner. Your line forwards to the assistant after hours or when nobody picks up.

  2. Step 2

    Answers, says it's AI

It greets them in your company's name, says it's an AI assistant and offers a person if they'd rather.

  3. Step 3

    Asks your questions

What's the job, where is it, how soon, best callback number. Only the questions you picked.

  4. Step 4

    Books or takes a message

Offers open times from your calendar or promises a callback. Emergencies ring your cell.

  5. Result

    You get a summary

A text for each call, and a morning list of who called, what they need and what got booked.

More questions and answers
Will my customers know they're talking to an AI?

Yes. It says so at the start of every call and text conversation. Anyone can ask for a person at any time. It transfers the call, or after hours it takes a message and texts it to you right away. Being upfront keeps your customers' trust, and they still get a quick answer and a time on the calendar.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. We forward your existing number to the assistant: only after hours, only when nobody answers, or all the time. You pick, and you can turn forwarding off whenever you want.

What if it gets something wrong?

It only answers from the information you approved. When a question goes past that, it takes a message instead of guessing. You see a summary of every call, and we tune the script with you during the first few weeks.
